Okay! Musume Digest #50

Dig-dig, Dig-dig a Digest. Diggity dig, diggity sig that Digest and reeeeead~ Yeeeeeeah~

Let's Digest, yo!

This week in News!

Yasuda Kei gets a new dish! And I don't mean the food kind (wink wink). Berryz to release a Double A-side! Event V covers released! Ameba have cancelled the stream for Tanaka Reina's grad concert!? More graduations from the 48'ers! 7cm and not gettin' any taller, and MORE!!! (...kinda)

~ ~

Hm... this week has been extremely slow in terms of news, updates and the like... I actually don't have that many video's on the Digest this week, either, so it's strange that I am not experiencing major blog lag this week, because usually I am... I was also procrastinating heavily on the digest, too, but I think I'm just experiencing one of those 'slow weeks'... or something.

In other non-Digesty news, I picked up a book. A real one. And read it.

I have not done that in eons... or at least since I finished off the Hunger Games series, which I think was in 2012-early 2013.

I also posted a pic of my good ol' mug (face) on here in a post... somewhere. It's pretty recent, and horrific. YAY!

Anyways, let's look at everything beyond and before the News this week, shall we?

Oricon Toppers!

This weeks Oricon Toppers are from two male units! The first is Johnny's Entertainments youngest (and currently most unappreciated) group, Sexy Zone with their new single Real Sexy!/BAD BOYS! This is the groups fourth single and fourth consecutive number one on the Weekly Oricon, selling 139,000 copies this week! Congrats, lads, even if your management does suck... I do still love you.

But Fuma, stop duck-facing. Please.

And this weeks Oricon Album Topper is LAND by duo Yuzu. This is the duo's 13th album overall, and their 12th major album to be released. Congrats to the duo for getting the weekly number one!!!

Video of the Week

PAN-PAKA-PAN! by iDOL Street

The fact that Avex managed to upload a full, and seriously I mean FULL PV without cutting off a minute or 45 seconds is beyond amazing. Maybe they're all ill or something? Well, whatever, that's besides the point... but this is the video of the week because I have been enjoying this song and video *most8 of the week, or at least since I discovered it. Seriously, right next to Fudanjuku's Shita wo Muite Kaerou PV, this has been the other song that I have looped like there is no tomorrow. I am addicted.

And it is so vanilla and plain and un-original and bland, but yet I love it. It has that peppiness that Puri Puri Summer Kiss or whatever it was called had. And there's a lot of colour, too. I keep thinking of summer and sun and happiness when I watch this... and listen to it. I guess that's why I adore it so much, because it makes me feel happy and feel like summer is truly on its way. The sun also helps with that, but this PV enhances that feeling of summer in my eyes.

... I also based a banner off of this PV. You will see when Reina eventually leaves MoMusu.
Picture of the Week

Can you stir me up a dish that is just as delicious as you, or better yet, just serve yourself...?

This weeks picture has nothing to do with Idols, just the pure nummyness that is the man who is marrying Kei. I mean, wow, unf, hnnnng... yummy, dishy, gorgeous, WOW!!! Kei really sunk her claws into someone delicious to look at. I am super jealous, so of course we need to look at his face all week.

Just... Just yes. Yes' all around!

Okay, I'm done (we will see another image of him soon, though... yum), but for now... TEH NEWS!!! -does a superhero pose-

Here is Hello! Project Station episode 13, and this week's MC is Berryz Kobou's Captain, Shimizu Saki! Please enjoy~

This weeks episode includes footage of C-ute rehearsing for C-ute's Treasure Box concert as well as comments and footage from the concert itself and a hair segment from Kumai Yurina.

Content wise, this episode really does not contain much, however I like all of the C-ute footage shown... especially the part where they stretch ;)

UF Licks episode #12 has been uploaded, so please check it out!

This episode includes live footage from more UFP events! Some sexy dude playing guitar (seriously, who IS HE?) and some Tasaki Asahi goodness! Oh, and that Reina group thing.

No, this episode isn't 'Tsunku and Friends in 30 years', but UF Licks! Don't let the old men fool ya!

Hello! Project News

Morning Musume

The covers to Morning Musume's Brainstorming/Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Iranai Event V's have been revealed.

Is it just me, or does the Kimi Sae Wah Wah cover give you that Love Machine feel? Because I swear it does... o-O

Hello! Project News

Ameba has announced that, due to technical issues, the paid stream for Tanaka Reina's graduation concert has been cancelled. All who paid will receive a full refund.

Okay, horrible news to know that the stream won't happen! But, let''s hope that UFP decide to host it on youtube... yeah... ;)

Ameba Blog Announcement

A digital photobook of Sayashi Riho and Ishida Ayumi is available from Ugosha+.

Holy fu---- -spits out random drink- IS THAT RIHO!? She looks HOT!!!

I don't care how old she is, LOOK AT HER!!!!!!!!

Ugosha+ Site

Morning Musume appeared as surprise guests on the show Waratte Iitomo and performed a special Japanese-only version of LOVE Machine. Please check it out!

I absolutely adore those costumes, and also, surprise performances ftw! BUT WHY LOVE MACHINE? I is stupidly overused and I doubt any of their new fans know what the hell the song is. Use Brainstorming at least, or Help Me!!, a song which gave them the 2 consecutive number 1's. That would be more logical, if anything.

Iikubo Haruna, Sato Masaki, Kudo Haruka and Oda Sakura appeared on Mujack to promote Morning Musume's new single Brainstorming/Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Irani. Please check it out!

I have to say that TakaMina stole the show for me in this. She is certainly amazing and I really think that I will become a bigger fan of hers if I see her do such amazing tings like she did in this show... -laughs non-stop...-

She is truly a force to be reckoned with. She is amazing!

Former Morning Musume member Yasuda Kei has announced her marriage to Italian Food Researcher, Ozaki Yoichi (35) at the end of the month. It has been revealed that the couple met through acquaintances and began dating at the end of last year. Yoichi proposed to Kei in March.
I am really happy to be able to meet a wonderful person who I can think ‘I’ll be alright for the rest of my life if it’s with him!’!!” - Yasuda Kei (Tokyohive)

UNF he is damn dishy. Kei, I damn well approve of this man! Good going, girl, finest, dishiest looking husband of the lot!

Berryz Kobou

AsianBeat has released a new article in English interviewing Shimizu Saki and Tokunaga Chinami on their recent performance in Bangkok. Please be sure to check out the article!

I am seriously happy that these two were pulled for the interview! Yes, because Chii is my favourite, and yes because it's nice to see two of the less-used talents in BK being interviewed. That, and Chii is probably the best to interview considering she has the most experience in being oversea's, in a sense... -haha-

Asian Beat

Berryz Kobo's 32nd single will be a Double A-side, it has been revealed. One of the song names has been revealed as Golden Chinatown.

Okay, Tsunku is getting all happy with these Double A-sides... but I want C-ut to have one, too, you know? They are awesome, and better than S/mileage and BK in my opinion~

Hello! SayuNii Facebook

A radio preview for Berryz Kobou's Golden Chinatown has been uploaded. Please check out the audio and see what you think!

It sounds like a mix of WANT! and Crazy Kanzen na Otona, but tamer. Also, it seems that Berryz are going through this 'HELLS YUR, ASIA!!!' theme. Hm...

It has been announced that Berryz Kobou will hold a special Tanabata live on July 7th.

I have no idea what a Tanabata is... -googles- Oh, a star festival... That's pretty darned cool!!!

The cover to C-ute's Crazy Kanzen na Otona Event V has been released.

Very simple, but of course, also quite sexy... or at least where Chissa, Nakky and Mai are concerned.

Hello! Project News

This month's Hello! Project Digital Book model is Suzuki Airi!

Week 4 looks extremely... delicious...

H!P Digital Books

The cover to Yajima Maimi's photobook My Museum has been revealed!

Loving dat Tacky Photoshop. What skillz.

Wani Books

Wada Ayaka is this months H!P Digital Books Plus Model!

Week 2 and 3 look really natural and pretty. Dawa is so damn gorgeous, and all the pictures look good, but those two especially...

H!P Digital Books

The cover for S/mileage's Tabidachi no Haru ga Kita Event V has been revealed.

It looks so pretty and refreshing, and damn, Kanananananana looks beautiful. Surprisingly, Nyon does too.

Hello! Project News

For the first two weeks of May, the new DJ for Idol Hour Hello! Project on Enjoy Network Japan is Tekeuchi Akari!

Two weeks? That's a tad short... then again, Akari IS a minor, so I guess her time is a little more limited as opposed to older members. Sorry that you aren't granny enough for us, Akari D;

ENJ Facebook

Video Documentary #5 for Juice=Juice has been released! This short documentary contains footage of Juice=Juice recording their second single Samidare Bijo ga Samidareru. A preview of the song is included at the end of the video, so please check it out!

The PV is already out, but this was a great introduction to the song in my opinion! Also; Aina sounded better in the booth than she did in the finished single in my opinion. And Yuka is so cute, kya!!!

Hello! Pro Kenshuusei

MAiDiGi TV have reported on the recent Hello! Project Kenshuusei Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test performance. Tanabe Nanami won the fan vote, and Wada Sakurako received a special award from the panel judges.

A few performances, including those from Sakurako and Tanabe, are included in the report. Please check it out!

I am highly impressed with Tanabe, she sounds really good, if slightly irritating, but still good! Anywhoo, congrats to Tanabe for winning the fan vote and Sakurako for the special award! Well done, girls!

Manten web has revealed that six new members will be joining the Hello! Pro Kenshuusei. Further details have yet to be announced.

Six newbs!? My my, Tsunku really is filling the nest again. Re-stock of the trainee's!!!!

Up-Front Promotion News

Up Up Girls' next single will be a triple A-side titled Ginga Jujou Monogatari/Burn The Fire!!/Natural Born ・ Idol. It will be released on June 5th.

Impressive, a Triple A-side! However, still sad that they don't release music video's... UFP need to kinda sort that out, you know?

Satoyama Life's youtube channel has uploaded Video Documentary #3 for Tasaki Asahi. This short documentary includes footage from the making of for her first PV, Tegami. Please enjoy the video!

I love Tegami and all, but I wish that I would get a sneak-peak recording of Tasaki singing her second single's other A-side song, Tuski something...

On May 3rd, Kasai Tomomi's graduation performance was held at the AKB48 Theatre. Towards the end of the performance, Kasai and Miyazawa Sae performed Tomo Yo together, and the other second generation members joined Kasai to sing Enjoy your life!
There were many frustrating, painful, sad, and hard times these past 7 years. At such times, I cheered up by reading everyone’s comments on my blog and letters. I love everyone, and everyone is my important family. I am uneasy about taking a new step forward, but I would like to chase my dream in order to stand on the same stage with everyone again. Thank you very much for the 7 years.” - Kasai Tomomi (Tokyohive)

And so another original member leaves... I have not known you long, Kasai, and what I did know of you was to do with lacklustre singles and plenty of scandals, but I did quite like you... you're cute. I hope you can find something that you want to do now that you are not in AKB48...

I have no idea what that is, though.

On May 5th AKB48 Team K and second generation member Matsubara Natsumi has announced that she will be graduating from the group. Matsubara posted her thoughts regarding the decision on her official blog.

No official date has been set for her graduation as of yet.

“I announced this at the ‘Nounai Paradise Performance’ today. I, Matsubara Natsumi, will graduate from AKB48.
I’ve experienced many things this past 7 years since I joined AKB48. It was the 7 years I had both good and hard times.
The only reason why I was able to come this far in AKB48 until now is because of you fans who always support me, the staff members who make AKB48 together with us, and the members who always make me laugh, so I was very happy.
From now on, I will go on a different path.
My dream is to become an actress. I guess I got the opportunities to appear in stage play, drama, or movie, just because I was a member of AKB48. I’m sure only hardships are waiting for me after I leave the group.
I do feel uneasy, but I am now looking forward for my life after the graduation.I can’t say that I’m not sad, but I will run through the rest of my time as AKB48, with my full effort so I would not let my tears to have a chance to shed!!!
I will make an announcement regarding my graduation date later!!!!
Please follow me!!!!!!
I love you all!!!!!” - (Matsubara Natsumi blog translation, Tokyohive)

... A lot of oldy AKB48'ers want to be actresses.

They're also all jumping ship pretty fast now. I mean, didn't Kasai just get out of there, and now a fellow second genner is skipping off, too?

Tokyohive | Tokyo Girls' Update | J-Pop Idols

NMB48's Yamamoto Hitomi has announced her graduation from the group. The announcement was made during the final stage of NMB48's Team M Idol no Yoake performance on May 1st. The reason for Hitomi's graduation is so that she can prepare for her high school examination.

While given various work, I saw people through the media who were shining brilliantly while working, and I thought that I want to be like them. I started to think about polishing myself by learning the basics, and involving myself with many different people and things from different fields. In order to do that, I need to devote myself to my studies. Just like the time I did my best for team promotion, I decided to reach for the top and study.” - Yamamoto Hitomi (Tokyo Girls' Update)
Hitomi's graduation concert will be held on May 30th.

Another graduation from the NMB48 tree!? What the heck!? And she is a serious cutie pie, too... damnit!

Tokyo Girls' Update | Tokyohive | J-Pop Idols

It has been revealed that, after 7 months since their last single release, NMB48 will be releasing their 7th single on June 19th! The announcement was made at NMB48's handshake event at Pacifico Yokohama by their theatre manager Kaneko Tsuyoshi on May 3rd.
“It’s been a long time since their last single, but their 1st album, ‘Teppen Tottande!’, which was released recently, has sold over 500,000 copies. Thanks to everyone, it has been a longtime hit. The title and other details are still undecided, but we would like to make outstanding work with the staff and members.” - Kaneko Tsuyoshi (Tokyohive)
The single is currently untitled.

Wait, has it seriously been 7 months!? It hasn't felt like that... Then again, my attention span for any 48 group outside of AKB is kinda short.

Seven former members of SDN48, a disbanded AKS group, announced a new group formation called 7cm at their live event STARTING OVER which was held at Shubuya Club Asia on May 4th. The group is compromised of Ito Mana, Imayoshi Megumi, Umeda Haruka, Kaida Juri, Kato Mami, KONAN and Hosoda Miu.

The unit name “7cm” was named after an average heel height of working women, and it was given meanings like below:
  • To be a lovely woman wearing high heels cool.
  • To be a group that is adored from men as well as women.
  • To grow up steadily on step by step.
- Tokyo Girls' Update

An intriguing development, though one I may not follow because I highly doubt these girls/women will suit my tastes... however it is nice to see some Saturday Nighters back in the Idol game, and I am sure it will please SDN48 fans, so yay!

Tokyo Girls' Update | J-Pop Idols | MELOS no Michi

A release date for Fairies' next single Hikari no Htae ni has been revealed. The single will release on July 24th, and is being used as the theme song for Jewelpet Happiness, marking this song as Fairies first anime song.

The short music video and a 30 second CM for Tokyo Girls' Style's Unmei have been released, so please check them out!

The single Unmei/Wonderful Smile will be released on June 5th in four editions; Type A, B, C and D.

It is actually unbelievable how freakin' grown up these girls are now, and their maturiy is so damn HIGH! The song is very TGS too, though nothing I would actively go out and listen to, but wow... damn... wow... Is it bad of me to say that they are hawt now?

The teaser/15 second CM for Petit Milady's Kagami no Dual ism has been released. This is the first song from their debut single and Double A-side, Kagami no Dual ism/100% Cider Girl which will be release don May 15th.

This looks cooler than I expected, though it is only a short clip, so I can't really say if it is cool or not.. but whatever, it looks good. They look good. Sadly they sound overly 'kawaii' and insufferable.

... Meh, whatever, they're cute. I can let my ears die for visual goodness.

Okay, they are all actually singing in time now. Thank goodness!

Tokyo News Service has footage from Kikkawa Yuu's release event for her photobook YOU21. Please check it out!

She mentioned Tsunky-poo! WOOHOO! Also, she has a very charming smile when she doesn't look at you with her dead, soulless eyes... and mhm, legs...

Tokyo News Service have uploaded footage from Wada Ayaka and Fukuda Kanon's release event for their joint photobook release event. Please check it out!

What the fudge is Nyon wearing? What, did she dress blind?

Her hairstyle and clown eyes (smiley eyes) remind me of Gorilla-chan, though.

Oricon have also shared their footage from the photobook release event for Wada Ayaka and Fukuda Kanon's joint photobook.

At least Dawa looks presentable; that's all I need, really. Though admittedly, that dress Nyon is wearing is chou kawaii.

And that is all the news that I have been able to gather for you all this week! Hopefully this is just enough to suffice for you guys, but hopefully next weeks Digest will be a boatload of Idol-y goodness that will certainly fill you up, but until that day comes, we will have to wait and see what the Digest platter will bring forth. For now though... JA NE!!!!!

PING!!!! Idolminded Recommended Reading: May 7th, 2013

  1. I am so SOOPS excited for 7cm!!!

Also, I actually really like Nyon's outfit. XD I think she was going for that pastel kawaii stye that's big in Harajuku right now. Although I would've liked the whole coordinate better if her dress was actually a top with some cuffed denim shorts and platforms. Either wear the jacket or the dress, not both. I loooved that choker though.

And I need to get into these Yuzu guys...I see them everywhere.

    1. I think a lot of people are! (Oh dear, late comment reply ;w;)

I think that the cardigan definitely made me dislike the outfit, not a nice pairing imo, but that's just me...

I really have no idea who Yuzu are!
